Job Title: Legal Account Coordinator
Job Responsibilities:
As a Legal Account Coordinator at the company, your primary responsibilities will include coordinating the filing and release of mechanic’s liens, performance bond claims, and stop notices, and verifying them as necessary upon Supervisor approval. You will maintain log records accordingly. You are expected to consider lawsuit and post-judgment requests from collection agencies and attorneys to make decisions within provided guidelines and review and attest to miscellaneous paperwork. Assisting in both internal and external inquiries related to ‘S’ status accounts through various communication channels is part of the role, and you will defer to the appropriate agency or attorney when necessary while informing team members of the status appropriately. You will reconcile attorney’s billings and update the collections database accordingly. Reviewing bankruptcy notices, making appropriate AS/400 notations, and filing bankruptcy proofs of claims as needed are also part of your duties. You will determine ‘S’ and ‘T’ status accounts that are eligible for bad debt write-off using guidelines and prepare and maintain the ‘Quarterly Bad Debt Write-Off Report’ for Management approval. Additionally, you will adjust corresponding items from the report in the AS/400 and supply correlating comments denoting the bad debt write-off amount.
Education and Experience Information:
Candidates for the Legal Account Coordinator position should have 3-5 years of experience in construction collection and legal negotiations. Superior interpersonal and customer relations skills, along with excellent written and verbal communication abilities, are required. Proficiency in the MS Office suite is necessary. A background in collections, including multi-jurisdictional preliminary notices, mechanic's liens, and releases, is considered a plus. Paralegal experience or experience reviewing legal documents is required. Candidates must obtain a Notary Public designation if not presently held.
Salary Information:
The position offers hourly pay dependent on experience, with payment on a weekly basis. Additional benefits include an annual discretionary bonus and a quarterly team bonus.
