Job Description:

- Investigate and prosecute felony cases involving sexual assaults, child physical abuse, and violence against the elderly within the Special Victims Bureau of the Major Crimes Division.
- Collaborate with law enforcement and other agencies to enhance cases at the earliest stages of investigation and prosecution.
- Develop and enhance investigative and trial skills under the supervision of experienced prosecutors.
- Participate in continuing skills development trainings related to working with vulnerable populations and advanced prosecution techniques.
- Manage a caseload of major offenses and conduct trials of these cases.
- Ensure compliance with prosecutor's discovery obligations.

Qualifications:

- Attorney with at least 4 years of experience as a prosecutor in New York State.
- Experience handling felony cases, preferably with trial experience.
- Strong desire to work with vulnerable populations and collaborate with advocates and members of the public.
- Desire to develop advanced investigative and trial skills related to major offenses.
- Prior training (or desire to be trained) in advanced prosecution skills.
- Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
- Knowledge of prosecutor's discovery obligations under CPL sec. 245.

Salary Range: $102,091 to $138,000 per year.
