Job Title: Litigation Docket Specialist

Job Responsibilities:
As a Litigation Docket Specialist at the law firm, you will be entrusted with a variety of important tasks that ensure the smooth operation of the firm’s litigation processes. Your primary responsibilities include processing requests, entering deadlines into the firm’s docketing system, preparing reports, and answering procedural questions. You will also be involved in e-filings, court runs, opening mail, and supporting the team with their workload. This role is part of a regional and national docketing team that provides assistance to the firm’s Chicago and other domestic offices. Your day-to-day duties will include:

- Logging and processing all docket requests using the firm’s docketing software.
- Handling all litigation docketing requests.
- Responding to case teams to ensure accurate docket entries.
- Assisting in the investigation of docket issues.
- Addressing procedural inquiries from attorneys.
- Participating in quality control and review of docket data entry.
- Engaging in data cleanup initiatives.
- Researching court case information to maintain accurate records.
- Abiding by court rules for electronically filing documents in federal court using the CM/ECF system and filing documents electronically after hours when necessary.
- e-Filing documents in state and appellate courts.
- Assisting with special projects as assigned by the regional coordinator and the Director and Managing Attorney, Docket.
- Answering procedural questions related to date calculations and filing requirements.

Education and Experience Information:
To qualify for the position of Litigation Docket Specialist, candidates should possess the following qualifications:

- A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
- Between 5 to 7 years of experience as a docket specialist, ideally with exposure to litigation in a law firm environment.
- Prior experience working in a law firm environment is preferred.
- Experience with CompuLaw is considered a plus.
- Proficiency with rules-based docketing.
- The ability to interpret and analyze information.
- Computer proficiency with advanced skills in all Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, is required.
- Proficiency in electronic court filing in both state and federal courts is required.

Salary Information:
The salary range for the Litigation Docket Specialist role is set between $80,000 to $90,000 annually, based on a 35-hour work week. This range is applicable for jobs performed in Chicago. The specific pay within the salary range will be determined by various factors, including relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, and business or organizational needs. Additionally, this position is eligible for an annual merit increase and bonus pay.
