Job Title: Fiduciary Accountant (Hybrid)
Job Responsibilities:
The Fiduciary Accountant will be responsible for handling estate and trust administration matters, alongside family office functions. Key responsibilities include:
- Preparation of estate, gift, and income tax returns.
- Conducting estate and trust accountings.
- Handling fiduciary administrative work.
- Direct communication with clients.
- Trust and estate accountings using GEMS software.
- Preparing fiduciary income tax returns with ProSystem software.
- Preparing . and New York estate and gift tax returns.
- Filing New York Surrogate's Court probate and administration forms, and pleadings in probate and administration proceedings using Lexis-Nexis HotDocs.
- Working with Connecticut Probate Court forms and practices.
- Creating projections to illustrate various estate planning techniques using Brentmark Estate Planning Tools.
- Analyzing accountings received from other fiduciaries.
- Utilizing spreadsheets via Microsoft Excel.
Education and Experience Information:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in Trusts and Estates (T&E) is required.
- Candidates must have a full knowledge of accounting functions.
- A strong accounting/financial background and excellent working knowledge of trust and estate software are essential.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills are necessary.
- Candidates must exhibit confidentiality, diplomacy, and responsiveness.
- Problem-solving abilities and spreadsheet proficiency are required.
- Minimum educational requirement is a Bachelor’s degree.
