Senior Paralegal - Chicago, Illinois
Keller Postman, a leading law firm, is seeking a Senior Paralegal to join their team in Chicago. This hybrid position allows for three days in the office and two days remote, with a competitive compensation range of to . The Senior Paralegal will support the firm's representation of clients in complex litigation at the trial and appellate levels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and assign tasks for paralegals and legal assistants within an assigned practice area
- Mentor and train paralegals and legal assistants to strengthen their skills and competencies
- Manage all phases of litigation, including pleadings, motion practice, discovery, and appellate procedures
- Prepare pretrial documents, manage trial transcripts, and track trial exhibits
- Assist with the preparation, filing, and organization of legal documents using various systems
- Conduct factual and legal research using Westlaw and other sources
- Maintain case files and documents in both hard copy and electronic case-management systems
- Communicate with courts, outside counsel, clients, experts, and vendors as needed
Required Skills and Experience:
- 10+ years of Paralegal experience, with at least 3 years in litigation
- Trial experience preferred
- Experience mentoring and training junior-level legal support staff
- Familiarity with federal and state court procedures
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment
- Excellent communication and time-management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other legal software
Education and Certifications:
- Associate's or bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred
- ABA-approved Paralegal certificate preferred
