Job Title: Business Development Coordinator
Job Responsibilities:
The Business Development Coordinator plays a pivotal role in the Marketing, Business Development, and Communications Team at the law firm. This role involves supporting the Business Development Manager for the firm's various business units, including Entertainment, Consumer Protection and Advertising, Government, and M&A, among others. The coordinator is responsible for assisting in business development initiatives aimed at growing the firm. Key responsibilities include:
- Fulfilling requests for business development materials, such as biographies, practice descriptions, brochures, pitch books, and capability presentations.
- Assisting in the creation of client proposals and RFP responses, which involves organizing business development materials, writing and editing copy, proofreading, and managing production and distribution.
- Supporting the maintenance of the firm’s experience database by collecting information from professionals and drafting descriptions of significant engagements, transactions, and cases.
- Compiling research on strategic key clients, industries, and competitors to support business development initiatives.
- Conducting market research on conferences and identifying and securing speaking engagements for attorneys and consultants.
- Tracking proposals and business development opportunities, providing regular reporting, and following up with lawyers to track wins, losses, and ROI.
- Owning the process of producing recurring newsletters.
- Coordinating the production of webinar presentations and client alerts.
- Collaborating closely with other team members, including those in events, communications, and marketing technology, to fulfill requests.
Education and Experience Information:
- A Bachelor’s degree is required for this position.
- The candidate should have two to three years of experience in legal services.
- The role requires superior client service skills and a demonstrated willingness to go above and beyond to deliver exceptional service.
- The candidate must possess exceptional written, editorial, proofreading, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information persuasively.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills are essential, with the ability to consistently meet deadlines in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- The position demands outstanding research, analytical, and critical thinking skills, with the ability to identify problems, provide analysis, and recommend solutions.
- Strong attention to detail, a proactive approach, and self-direction are necessary, along with the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Flexibility to adjust work schedules according to workload demands or planned events, including occasional off-site events, is required.
- Strong computer skills, including web-based research, MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, are essential.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience using Salesforce or another CRM database is preferred.
- Familiarity with Chambers rankings and research processes is advantageous.
Salary Information:
The base annual pay range for this role is between $60,000 and $70,000. The base pay offered will vary depending on skills, qualifications, and experience and will also take into account internal equity. A full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits dependent on the position will also be offered.
