Job Title: Legal Secretary
Job Responsibilities:
The Legal Secretary will support attorneys in the Philadelphia Claim Litigation office, which involves a hybrid work arrangement with both in-office and virtual hours. Key responsibilities include:
- Applying specialized knowledge of legal procedures.
- Managing calendars and scheduling litigation events such as depositions, mediations, and hearings.
- Processing mail and handling electronic/paper filing in five surrounding counties.
- Interacting with clients, courts, and counsel on behalf of the attorney throughout the litigation process.
Education and Experience Information:
- Requires a minimum of 2+ years of recent civil defense litigation secretarial experience, preferably in insurance defense or personal injury.
- Prior experience in electronic and paper filing is preferred, especially in the counties of Philadelphia, Delaware, Chester, Montgomery, and Bucks.
Key Skills Required:
- Calendaring and scheduling experience within a legal environment.
- Strong organizational skills for prioritizing tasks and multitasking.
- E-filing experience.
- Knowledge of legal and medical terminology, local and state rules regarding pleadings, pre-trial matters, deadlines, and filing requirements is strongly preferred.
- Ability to adapt to a corporate law environment.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, including proofreading, attention to detail, and formatting.
- Accurate typing skills.
Technology/Software Experience Required:
- Working knowledge of the PA electronic filing system.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with case management and document storage systems.
Additional Details:
- Applicants must be eligible to work lawfully in the . immediately, as the law firm will not sponsor . work opportunities.
- The position does not require travel.
Salary Information:
The potential starting salary range is $57, to $66,, based on skills, background, and experience. The high end of the range is limited to applicants with significant relevant experience. There is also potential yearly incentive pay up to 9% of the base salary.
