Job Title: Immigration Attorney
Job Responsibilities:
- Represent clients before various immigration authorities including Immigration Courts, United States Citizenship and Immigration Services, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Customs and Border Patrol, the Board of Immigration Appeals, and federal courts.
- Prepare and draft applications and petitions for immigration benefits.
- Advise and counsel clients on potential avenues of relief and provide guidance on immigration matters.
- Develop factual backgrounds and legal arguments to support asylum claims in the .
- Conduct research on case law, regulations, and statutes to defend clients and assert their rights.
- Represent clients in family-based applications, consular processing, and other immigration-related cases.
- Collaborate with partners and other associate attorneys in the firm.
- Perform legal research and writing to support both affirmative and defensive applications as well as federal litigation and advocacy before various immigration agencies.
Education and Experience Information:
- A Juris Doctorate degree from an ABA-accredited law school is required.
- Active bar admission in any state is required, with preference for Missouri, Washington ., or California.
- At least one year of experience in immigration law is preferred.
- Candidates should be extremely detail-oriented and familiar with various legal documents and criminal proceedings.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential.
- Ability to build rapport with clients, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills, is necessary.
- Candidates must be able to manage responsibility for a large caseload.
- The ability to speak a foreign language fluently is preferred.
Salary Information:
- The position offers a salary range of $70,000 to $80,000 per year.
