Job Title: Collections and Foreclosure Paralegal

Job Responsibilities:

The Collections and Foreclosure Paralegal plays a crucial role in supporting attorneys by managing substantive legal work and ensuring compliance with relevant laws. Key responsibilities include:

Association Actions:
- Understand and comply with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and related state laws.
- Communicate with delinquent owners via phone, email, and letter correspondence in a respectful and professional manner.
- Process payments from owners and prepare balance due letters, payoff letters, and estoppels.
- Prepare initial Demand Letters, Notice of Intent to Foreclose letters, and Liens.
- Prepare and generate complaint packages and all foreclosure motions.
- Prepare and generate Stipulations for Settlement, including the Order Ratifying the Stipulation, if necessary.
- Prepare and generate the Motion for Summary Judgment, including affidavits of indebtedness, costs, and attorney's fees.
- Prepare and generate all Notices of Hearing and instruct Team Assistant with various tasks.
- Prepare and generate the Final Judgment, including the Notice of Sale.
- Prepare cover letters to the judge and the hearing folder for the attorney.

Bank Actions:
- Conduct Mortgage/Satisfaction Searches.
- Prepare Answer/Affirmative Defenses.
- Prepare and generate Motions for Case Management Conference, Notice of Trial, and Motions to Reschedule Sale.
- Prepare and generate all Notices of Hearing.

Closing Files:
- Ensure all legal work is complete and there are no outstanding invoices before closing a file.
- Determine if there is money in trust to pay outstanding invoices and coordinate with the Team Assistant or the Association as needed.

Matter Centricity:
- Receive Court Pleadings filed and save the document in the file through Filesite for further profiling by the file clerk.

Required Skills/Abilities:
- Proficiency in software tools such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and the Internet.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
- Ability to identify and solve issues in a timely manner.
- Team player willing to assist others in the department.
- Extremely organized and capable of multi-tasking.
- Conscientious regarding work completion, deadlines, time management, and attendance.
- Analytical and detail-oriented, while working at a fast pace.

Education and Experience:

- High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- 2 or more years of experience.
