Job Title: Sr. Director, Business Development – Transactional

Job Responsibilities:
The Sr. Director, Business Development – Transactional is a senior leadership role tasked with overseeing the Transactional practices, including Tax and Real Estate, at a leading global law firm. This position is responsible for driving the revenue growth of the firm, supporting transactional lawyers with their marketing initiatives, and managing the domestic Transaction Business Development team. The role requires collaboration with various leaders and departments to determine visibility and business development priorities and plans for transactional practices. Key responsibilities include:

- Working with Practice Group Leaders and the Chief Marketing & Business Development Officer to establish business development priorities and plans.
- Leading the development, execution, and review of strategies and initiatives for related practices and lawyers.
- Driving revenue generation initiatives such as client targeting, market research, responding to RFPs, and conducting client relationship reviews.
- Collaborating with senior international business development leads and the Sr. Director of Business Development, Litigation on cross-practice and cross-border opportunities.
- Partnering with communications, brand, and recognition teams to develop strategic visibility initiatives and build brand awareness.
- Providing coaching and guidance to senior lawyers on visibility and business development initiatives.
- Leading efforts related to key transactional clients, including providing direction and infrastructure for initiatives.
- Building and managing a highly effective team of marketing and business development professionals across the .
- Collaborating with Practice Managers to drive broader practice initiatives through a marketing and business development lens.
- Working with the Market Intelligence Team and Knowledge Management to enhance matter collection and streamline business development processes.
- Partnering with the M&BD leadership team to drive cross-functional projects for increased efficiency and collaboration.

Education and Experience Information:
The ideal candidate for the Sr. Director, Business Development – Transactional role should have:

- 15+ years of experience in professional services marketing and business development, preferably within a sophisticated, matrixed organization.
- Significant management experience with a demonstrated record of team building and transformational project management.
- High-level relationship management experience is highly valued.

Additional experience and skills required include:

- Strong business acumen with the ability to develop short- and long-term business development and strategic marketing plans.
- Background in business development and marketing technology, tools, processes, and innovation to drive revenue and efficiency.
- Outstanding interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, build consensus, and create support for initiatives.
- Proven track record of managing and mentoring a large, geographically diverse team.

Salary Information:
The annual compensation range for the Sr. Director, Business Development – Transactional position is $360,000 to $375,000. The salary offered within this range will depend on qualifications and other operational considerations. Benefits offered for this position include health care, retirement benefits, paid days off (including sick time and vacation time), parental leave, basic life insurance, Flexible Spending Accounts, and discretionary, performance-based bonuses.
