Job Responsibilities:
The Legal Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the Personal Injury Department of the law firm. Their primary responsibilities include:
- Opening and organizing new client files to ensure efficient case management.
- Requesting and tracking medical records, bills, and liens to support case development.
- Scheduling appointments, depositions, and mediations to facilitate legal proceedings.
- Maintaining updated case files and calendars to ensure all team members are informed.
- Drafting correspondence and legal documents under the supervision of attorneys to assist in case preparation.
- Communicating with clients, providers, adjusters, and opposing counsel to gather information and provide updates.
- Assisting in the preparation of demands, settlement packages, and litigation files, contributing to the resolution of cases.
- Performing other administrative duties as assigned to support the department's operations.
Education and Experience Information:
The position requires the following qualifications:
- Being bilingual in English and Spanish is considered a plus, enhancing communication with a diverse client base.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail are essential for managing case files and deadlines.
