Law Firm Seeking Senior Manager, Client Development for IP & Tech Practices
Are you a highly experienced professional with a solid understanding of the needs and expectations of law firms? Do you have exceptional interpersonal skills and executive presence? If so, Gibson Dunn, a leading global law firm, is looking for you to join our team as a Senior Manager, Client Development for our Artificial Intelligence, Intellectual Property, Privacy, Cybersecurity and Data Innovation, and Technology Litigation practices. In this role, you will have the opportunity to shape the growth and success of our firm while working closely with practice leaders and other team members.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a select set of client teams and drive exceptional client experiences
- Collaborate with other Litigation and Transactional Client Development team members to cross-sell and develop bespoke offerings for clients
- Support business development planning by overseeing target list management, identifying opportunities for thought leadership, and suggesting client events
- Oversee experience management and marketing collateral creation for applicable practices
- Coach lawyers at all levels on business development in both group and individual settings
- Partner with colleagues on various teams for regular and special projects
- Stay current on market intelligence and act as a resource for practice, industry, and office leaders
- Work with the CRM team to maintain high quality client contact data
- Take responsibility for the growth and development of junior business development team members
- Submit to directories and rankings organizations to promote and raise the firm's profile
Qualifications:
- Solid understanding of law firm needs and expectations
- Exceptional interpersonal and executive presence skills
- In-depth understanding of relevant practices and areas of law
- Significant experience managing a team of business development professionals
- Strong written communication skills
- Strong project and time management skills
- Exceptional proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Outstanding problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure and pay attention to detail
Experience:
- University degree
- 8+ years of experience in professional services, legal preferred
- 2+ years of team management experience
- Experience with strategic business development planning and pitching, with litigation knowledge preferred
- Experience with AI, privacy, data innovation, cybersecurity, technology litigation, and/or intellectual property preferred
