Job Title: Business Development & Marketing Specialist

Job Responsibilities:
The Business Development & Marketing Specialist at the law firm is tasked with supporting the business development and marketing efforts across the Midwest region. This includes a wide range of activities focused on practice development, client-facing events, award and directory submissions, internal communications, new business pitches, CRM database management, and thought leadership activities to promote the firm's services to both existing and potential clients. The specialist will report to the Associate Director in Chicago and provide support for various functions within the . and global Business Development & Marketing Department.

Key responsibilities include:
- Facilitating the production of client-facing educational and social events such as webinars, seminars, conferences, receptions, and dinners. This involves planning, executing, and monitoring all event logistics and serving as the on-site point of contact.
- Leading the webinar production pipeline, including interfacing with the webinar vendor and panelists, and handling post-event matters like follow-up and CLE issuance.
- Collaborating with Accounting to monitor departmental budgets and process vendor payments.
- Assisting with internal office events when required.
- Working with practice-focused Business Development and Marketing Managers (BDMM) on drafting award and directory submissions for regional and national publications, and managing the Chambers USA submission timeline for the Chicago office.
- Maintaining records and tracking documents related to all Chicago marketing endeavors and providing semi-annual reporting to the global business development and marketing team.
- Supporting BDMMs with new business pitches, proposals, and responses to RFPs using applications such as InDesign and PowerPoint, ensuring materials are up-to-date and reflective of the firm's capabilities.
- Drafting, editing, and updating a broad range of written deliverables, including practice area descriptions, attorney biographies, and internal newsletters.
- Maintaining mailing lists and client data in InterAction (CRM), coordinating cleanup of regional contact lists, and assisting BDMMs with practice and partner business activities tracking.
- Assisting in preparation for partner/counsel marketing and business development meetings.
- Coordinating with Business Development and Marketing Department members in other offices and serving as an information source for regional-related information.
- Conducting client research and supporting efforts to promote the firm's services.
- Maintaining confidentiality and demonstrating effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Managing firm resources responsibly and complying with firm operations, policies, and procedures.

Education and Experience:
- A Bachelor’s Degree is required for this position.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in marketing and/or business development within the professional services arena, with a preference for experience in a law firm environment.

Salary Information:
The starting base salary for the Business Development & Marketing Specialist position is expected to be within the range of $105,000 to $115,000. Actual salary will be determined based on skills, experience, and other job-related factors, consistent with applicable law.
