Job Title: Legal Recruitment Director
Job Responsibilities:
- Define, develop, and lead the implementation of best practices, policies, and procedures for recruiting partners, laterals, and summer associates to support the law firm's overall growth strategy.
- Execute and manage all aspects of legal recruitment, including the summer associate program, contract attorney hiring, paralegal hiring, and occasional intern hiring.
- Collaborate with US leadership and heads of practice areas to understand and meet recruitment requirements in alignment with approved policies and procedures.
- Work closely with multiple departments such as Conflicts, Finance, Culture and Engagement, HR, and Clients and Markets during the recruitment process.
- Manage and develop the recruitment team, ensuring effective support and resources are in place.
- Develop budget requirements for recruitment initiatives and manage expenditures efficiently.
- Monitor trends and innovations in partner, lateral, and student recruitment practices across professional services organizations and beyond; recommend and implement new processes and policies as needed.
- Act as a strategic advisor to US leadership on all recruitment matters, providing guidance and recommendations.
- Collaborate with search firms in key geographic markets to support recruitment efforts.
- Perform additional duties as required to meet the position's responsibilities.
Education and Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of significant experience in strategic recruitment leadership roles, with a strong focus on hands-on partner and lateral recruitment within a sophisticated, multi-office professional services organization.
- Legal experience is preferred.
- Experience with student recruiting is preferred.
- Strong relationships with outside search firms in key markets are essential.
- Extensive expertise in partner recruitment best practices and innovations within the legal or broader professional services market.
- Proven track record of designing, completing, and advising on LPQs with partners and other stakeholders.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and multiple stakeholders, with the confidence to challenge when necessary.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and a successful history of collaboration and leadership in a large organization.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of interacting credibly and diplomatically with all organizational levels.
- Demonstrated success in leading, managing, and developing a team.
- Responsive, analytical, and a strong understanding of business, particularly in a professional services organization.
- High level of emotional intelligence and intellectual ability.
- A consultative, proactive, and service-oriented approach to all aspects of partner recruitment.
Salary Information:
- For New York and Washington DC locations, the salary range is $215,000 to $315,000, depending on experience.
- The law firm offers a competitive salary and benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, 401k, profit sharing, short-term/long-term disability, life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid time off, paid holidays, and discretionary bonuses.
