Law Firm Seeking Transaction Clerk for M&A and Private Equity Practice

Orrick, a global law firm with offices in over 25 markets, is seeking an entry-level Transaction Clerk for its Mergers & Acquisitions and Private Equity (MAPE) practice. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong academic background and a passion for the legal industry to gain hands-on experience in a major international law firm. The position will begin in Summer 2025 and can be based in San Francisco, New York, or any other US office location.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate transactions from start to finish
- Utilize AI-enabled and other legal technology to review and analyze corporate documents related to acquisitions and dispositions
- Assist with the formation of business entities and preparation of corporate legal documents
- Manage schedules and timelines for efficient deal progress
- Organize documents and provide administrative support for transactions
- Assist with closing preparation and provide general assistance at closing
- Communicate effectively with clients and team members
- Collaborate with other departments and individuals within the firm
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree required, with a strong academic background or a combination of education and work experience
- Prior legal experience is useful but not required
- Willingness to maintain an intense and flexible work schedule
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to become familiar with complex transaction procedures and terminology
- Team-oriented mindset
- Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Passion for the legal industry

- California Major Markets: $50, - $69,
- New York City: $53, - $69,
- National: $48, - $62,
