Marketing and Business Development Manager
Job Responsibilities
The Marketing and Business Development Manager is responsible for supporting various marketing, business development, and communication initiatives aimed at enhancing the law firm's brand in the Minneapolis market. Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with attorneys and managers to strategically promote the firm's marketing goals in the Minneapolis office.
- Developing relationships with attorneys to serve as a point of contact for day-to-day requests and marketing and business development needs.
- Strategizing with shareholders on responses to RFPs and proposals, including market research and analysis of prospective clients and business sectors.
- Coordinating with colleagues to identify media opportunities and nominations, and preparing necessary data for these opportunities.
- Handling directory submissions, including those for Chambers and other directories.
- Writing, editing, and distributing marketing materials, newsletters, conference materials, client updates, website content, and other client communications.
- Making recommendations for and supporting office sponsorships, memberships, and event attendance at client and community events to increase the firm's visibility and influence in the Minneapolis market.
- Working with events and practice professionals to plan, organize, and host client events, including managing all aspects of events such as concept and agenda development, invitation coordination, and evaluating return on investment.
- Collaborating with firmwide marketing on client-facing and internal marketing materials for the Minneapolis area, including attorney biographies, practice area descriptions, press releases, and website content.
- Preparing welcome materials for new attorneys and assisting with their integration into the firm.
- Coordinating the flow of information from attorneys to marketing professionals.
- Working with individual shareholders and practice group leaders to develop, implement, and support business plans that align with the practice and firm strategic goals.
- Possessing knowledge of the Minneapolis market, including the business community and key charitable and civic organizations.
- Assisting with and managing a variety of short- and long-term projects and attorney requests.
Education and Experience Information
- A Bachelor’s degree is required.
- A minimum of seven years of relevant experience in marketing and business development at a law firm or other professional services firm is required.
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Salary Information
The expected pay range for the Marketing and Business Development Manager position is $115,000 to $143,000 per year. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. Full-time employees may also be eligible for a discretionary bonus and a comprehensive benefits package, which includes health insurance with an optional HSA, short-term and long-term disability, dental insurance, vision care, life insurance, Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, 401K, vacation, sick time, and an employee assistance program.
