Job Title:
Paralegal - Charity Enforcement

Job Responsibilities:
The Paralegal position within the Charity Enforcement Unit (CEU) of the Office of the Attorney General is tasked with a variety of responsibilities aimed at supporting the enforcement of laws related to charitable activities. The essential functions of this role include:

- Serving as the primary point of contact for calls and emails directed to the unit.
- Receiving, logging, assigning, and tracking complaints and notices related to charities.
- Preparing and sending correspondence for complaint and notice files.
- Assisting in drafting and formatting court documents and discovery for litigation purposes.
- Conducting background research on complaints received.
- Maintaining files related to complaints and notices.
- Performing legal research on issues pertinent to the unit and its cases.
- Assisting with outreach efforts, which may include drafting documents, scheduling trainings/events, and coordinating necessary details.
- Managing the unit’s calendar and assisting with scheduling needs.
- Providing support needed to implement projects that align with the unit’s goals.
- Assisting with administrative matters such as ordering supplies and booking travel.
- Performing other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Information:
To qualify for the Paralegal position, candidates must have completed a paralegal program or possess comparable education and/or experience necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of a paralegal. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate strong organizational and communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Pro, as well as excellent spelling, grammar, and proofreading skills.

Salary Information:
The salary range for this position is commensurate with experience and qualifications. The position is classified as non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
