JOB TITLE: Foreclosure Sales Paralegal
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
The primary responsibility of the Foreclosure Sales Paralegal is to manage closings resulting from foreclosures. The role requires preferred experience in litigation, foreclosure, and bankruptcy. Key duties include:
- Intake and set up files to initiate the closing process.
- Review title work to ensure timely closing of transactions, addressing any title issues that may arise.
- Coordinate with clients and other attorneys to process closings efficiently.
- Follow up on delayed title work or title curative issues to ensure resolution.
- Manage files from the sale stage through post-closing, ensuring all necessary steps are completed.
- Solve problems and offer solutions to ensure closings occur within the required timeframe.
- Communicate accurately and concisely with clients, opposing attorneys, and county and municipal offices.
- Prepare and manage closing documents, including instructions, balance sheets, recording documents, checks, and closing statements.
- Understand and navigate real estate transactions, including preparing and formatting memoranda, correspondence, and other legal documents.
- File pleadings physically or electronically with courts as required.
- Generate reports and follow up on outstanding tasks identified during the process.
- Exhibit motivation, multitasking ability, attention to detail, and a personable attitude.
- Work effectively in a team atmosphere while contributing to a positive team spirit.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE INFORMATION:
- A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required; additional secondary education or some college coursework is advantageous.
- A paralegal certification from an accredited institution is preferred.
- Prior experience working as a real estate paralegal or in an administrative capacity is beneficial for this fast-paced position.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of closing documents and the ability to read and recognize special warranty deeds, loan documents, and escrow documents.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products is necessary.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required, including the ability to communicate with clerks or judges in various courts.
- Provide excellent customer service both internally and externally.
- Self-starter with strong time-management abilities.
- Extreme attention to detail and the ability to maintain and sustain ever-changing schedules and spreadsheets.
- Balance between team and individual responsibilities, contributing to building a positive team spirit.
- Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness while looking for ways to improve and promote quality.
- Ability to read and write for proofreading and editing purposes.
- Good understanding of legal policies and procedures.
- Strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
SALARY INFORMATION:
- The compensation for the Foreclosure Sales Paralegal position is between to per hour.
- Job Type: Full-time
- Expected hours: 40 per week
