Description

The Senior Enterprise Applications and Data Architect is a key member of the Information Systems Department at the law firm. This role involves assessing, developing, and maintaining architecture components within the application portfolio, while also monitoring and governing the associated data within the environment.

Job Responsibilities

- Assist in developing roadmaps for the application and data portfolio and create transition plans to move from current to future solutions.
- Plan, direct, and coordinate the standardization of data across various on-premise and cloud platforms.
- Identify inefficiencies in workflow processes and implement changes to enhance productivity, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness of products or services.
- Review application architecture and data integration options, making recommendations to IS management for potential implementation with on-premise or cloud-hosted solutions.
- Serve as Project Manager for new enterprise-wide applications or updates to existing applications. This includes creating project plans, tracking budgets, monitoring deadlines, and evaluating project team performance.
- Lead testing of new software or new versions of software, maintaining test environments for enterprise-wide applications, including server specifications and software installations, integrations, and customizations.
- Create and maintain testing scripts for all enterprise-wide applications, manage testing teams and procedures, and analyze test results.
- Develop and maintain production environments for enterprise-wide applications, including server and desktop specifications, client software packaging, server software installations, integrations, and customizations.
- Submit Change Management forms for approval per IS procedure, schedule work with vendors, and perform installations or upgrades, ensuring close monitoring after installation or upgrade.
- Resolve and respond to Help Desk tickets related to enterprise-wide applications and other applications as needed, noting trends, troubleshooting, and performing problem management, including escalation to other teams and vendors as necessary.
- Stay current on patches and releases related to enterprise-wide applications, review release notes, track resolutions to existing software problems, and recommend updates for installation.
- Interface with vendors, industry peers, and professional associations to stay informed of existing and evolving industry standards and technologies.

Additional Functions

- Maintain a high level of knowledge in all enterprise-wide applications through release notes, documentation, vendor dialogue, and training classes.
- Assist, teach, and mentor Applications Analysts, Administrators, and Engineers on the team.
- Perform other related job duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Information

Education:

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science preferred.

Experience:

- Minimum of ten years of extensive experience managing enterprise-wide applications, preferably in a law firm.
- At least five years of related work experience with cloud data analytics platforms technologies such as Azure, AWS, and Snowflake.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

- Strong project management skills, with experience in organizing, planning, and executing small to large-scale projects from the envisioning stage through implementation.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of enterprise system integrations, including multi-cloud integrations, data movement (ETL/ELT), data architecture (Snowflake, MS Fabric), data preparation (Azure Data Factory), and data consumption and visualization (PowerBI).
- Knowledgeable in infrastructure, server, operating systems, and network communications.
- Strong attention to detail and process-oriented mindset.
- Ability to install and maintain any enterprise-wide application, including servers, customizations, integrations, load balancing, and disaster recovery procedures.
- Proficient in SQL server and SQL scripting.
- Extensive knowledge of various Microsoft technologies, including Azure AD, Azure AD Application Proxy, Power BI, OneDrive, and Azure Virtual Desktop remote app streaming.
- Certification in Microsoft 365 Enterprise preferred.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

The position operates in a clerical, office setting, with routine use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

Physical Requirements:

- Sedentary work, involving exertion of physical strength to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects up to 10 pounds.
- The job involves sitting most of the time, with occasional walking and standing necessary to carry out job duties.

Visual Acuity:

- The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, and extensive reading.

Salary Information

The salary range for this position applies to various locations, including Atlantic City, Chicago, Denver, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Morristown, New York, Princeton, San Francisco, Seattle, and Washington, . The range reflects a variety of factors considered in compensation decisions, including experience, education, licensure and/or certifications, geographic location, market demands, and other business and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this position is $140,000 to $175,000.
