Job Title: Manager - Employment Attorney
Job Responsibilities:
The Manager - Employment Attorney at the company is tasked with providing proactive legal advice and ensuring compliance with labor and employment regulations. The role involves resolving workplace disputes through negotiation, litigation, or alternative dispute resolution methods. Key responsibilities include addressing issues such as wage and hour disputes, discrimination allegations, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, accommodation issues, ADA matters, and associate relations issues. The attorney is also responsible for managing Department of Labor audits. Regular duties include drafting and reviewing litigation documents, managing administrative claims, and representing the company in mediations and administrative hearings. The position also involves developing strategies for arbitration disputes, court hearings, and trials in collaboration with outside counsel.
Major Activities include:
- Managing labor and employment litigation, arbitrations, and legal investigations.
- Representing the company in pre-litigation resolution management, administrative hearings, settlement negotiations, and mediations.
- Drafting position statements, responses to agency inquiries, and handling a variety of claims, demands, and regulatory matters.
- Providing subject matter advice and counsel on labor and employment law to business partners at all levels.
- Monitoring and responding to union organizing campaigns and developing strategies to minimize legal risks.
- Performing legal research and monitoring legislation, regulations, and case law affecting the company.
- Assisting with other legal functions as requested by senior attorneys in the department.

Education and Experience Information:
Minimum Education:
- JD (Juris Doctor) required.
Minimum Special Certifications or Technical Skills:
- Must be licensed to practice law and be an active member in good standing of at least one state bar.
Minimum Type of Experience Required:
- A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in labor and employment law/litigation and counsel, either at a law firm or as in-house counsel.
- Comprehensive knowledge of labor and employment laws.
- Experience counseling clients on a wide range of employment-related matters.
- Trial and/or arbitration experience.
- Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and legal writing skills.
