Job Title: Immigration Case Coordinator
Job Responsibilities:
Immigration Case Coordinators at the law firm are responsible for a variety of duties under the supervision of assigned attorneys and the Chief Human Resources Officer. The primary responsibilities include preparing and filing nonimmigrant applications/petitions such as E, H, L, TN, O, and immigrant petitions (EB 1 to 3) along with adjustment of status and immigrant visa applications. Coordinators also prepare, file, and oversee labor certification filings (PERM). They need to be prepared to discuss the entire process of an application/petition during interviews and have a thorough understanding of prevailing wage concepts and how to calculate corresponding wage levels, with the ability to explain the process during interviews. Familiarity with the concepts of Delitizer and Kazarian is also required.
Additional responsibilities involve performing case intake, analyzing case documents, drafting correspondence, and maintaining positive contact with clients while observing confidentiality. Coordinators are expected to organize client documentation, monitor workload and production, communicate with clients and foreign nationals regarding case filings, and monitor expiration dates. They also prepare case status reports using case management systems and programs, and support the immigration group with other assigned tasks and projects as needed.
Education and Experience Information:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university or have a paralegal certification. Equivalent experience will also be considered. A minimum of three years of experience as an Immigration Case Coordinator is required, along with three to four years of experience in preparing and filing nonimmigrant applications/petitions. Additionally, candidates need three to four years of experience in the preparation and oversight of labor certification (PERM) filings with the Department of Labor, with a thorough understanding of PERM work and a strong emphasis on accuracy. Previous experience with INSZoom is strongly preferred.
Candidates must have the ability to handle a high volume of cases while maintaining a high level of attention to detail and productivity. Proficiency in all Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, as well as proficiency with document management systems, is required. Outstanding case/project management and organizational skills, excellent writing skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask and work independently toward team goals are essential. Effective communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment are also important.
Salary Information:
The hourly range for this full-time position is USD to USD. Various factors determine compensation, including geographic location, experience, relevant degrees and certifications, and other applicable factors authorized by law.
