Job Title: Legal Assistant
Job Responsibilities:
The Legal Assistant will be an essential part of the legal team, primarily aiding in personal injury cases. Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting in the preparation and drafting of legal documents such as pleadings, subpoenas, and motions.
- Drafting pleadings, discovery requests, motions, and other legal documents.
- Answering discovery, interrogatory, and requests for production.
- Preparing exhibit lists, witness lists, expert lists, and expert designations.
- Ensuring case files are trial-ready.
- Supporting attorneys by managing document systems and ensuring accurate filing and organization of case files.
- Conducting legal research using resources like Lexis-Nexis to support case preparation.
- Handling clerical tasks such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, and maintaining calendars.
- Drafting demands and medical chronologies.
Education and Experience Information:
Candidates should ideally possess a Bachelor’s degree in Law or a related field. A minimum of three years of experience as a Legal Assistant in personal injury or a similar role is mandatory. Familiarity with legal software applications is advantageous. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience in personal injury law are required, each with a minimum of three years.
Skills required include:
- Proficiency in clerical duties and administrative tasks within a legal setting.
- Strong phone etiquette and communication skills for client and colleague interactions.
- Familiarity with document management systems for efficient case file handling.
- Knowledge of legal procedures and terminology, specifically in personal injury.
- Experience with medical records and medical terminology.

Salary Information:
The position offers a competitive salary ranging from to per hour, depending on experience level. The role is full-time, with expected working hours ranging from 40 to 50 per week. The benefits package includes health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and bonuses.
Additional Information:
The work schedule consists of an 8-hour shift with potential overtime and weekend work as needed. Candidates must have the ability to commute to or relocate to El Paso, TX 79901 before starting work.
