Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Litigation/Bankruptcy Paralegal or Legal Assistant to join our growing team. In this role, you will support attorneys through all stages of commercial litigation and bankruptcy matters including case management, discovery, and hearing/trial preparation. We will consider either an experienced paralegal or, for a legal assistant role, a recent college graduate with an interest in the law and exceptional organizational skills.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist with case and calendar management in numerous federal and bankruptcy court matters
- Federal/bankruptcy court e-filing and monitoring court dockets in multiple matters to ensure proper calendaring, service, etc.
- Prepare basic pleadings, subpoenas, discovery requests/responses, certificates of service, etc.
- Manage large volumes of documents and information both locally and utilizing eDiscovery platforms
- Assist attorneys with trial preparation, including compiling exhibits, organizing case files, and creating hearing/trial notebooks
Education and Experience Information
- Bachelor’s degree and/or Paralegal Certificate
- Strong organizational, writing, and analytical skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under tight deadlines
Preferred:
- 3+ years of experience as a litigation paralegal working primarily in federal/bankruptcy court matters
- Working understanding of federal court litigation and/or commercial bankruptcy (chapter 11) matters
- Proficient in legal case management/eDiscovery platforms (., Relativity, Concordance, CaseMap)
- Familiarity with federal and bankruptcy court e-filing procedures (ECF/PACER)
