Job Responsibilities:
The Commercial Real Estate Paralegal at the law firm plays a crucial role in supporting attorneys by providing comprehensive services related to commercial real estate transactions. The key responsibilities of this position include:
- Drafting and abstracting a wide range of leases, including initial drafts of office, ground, and retail leases using existing forms.
- Performing meticulous diligence on real estate and financing transactions, ensuring exceptional attention to detail and thoroughness.
- Reviewing surveys, title commitments, and exception documents to support real estate transactions.
- Preparing documents related to various real estate, loan, and construction matters. This is done in consultation with business clients and under the review of attorneys, and includes agreements, loan documents, and standard construction contracts.
- Preparing ancillary real estate transaction documents such as escrow instructions, deeds, easements, owner’s affidavits, closing certificates, entitlements, and settlement statements.
- Providing general assistance in real estate, lending, construction, and leasing transactions.
- Proofreading legal documents to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Analyzing and summarizing documents, zoning ordinances, and statutes for review by attorneys.
- Collaborating closely with attorneys to resolve a variety of day-to-day issues, supporting a broad range of commercial transactions and projects.
Education and Experience:
- A degree in Paralegal Studies or a related field is preferred for candidates applying for this position.
- Candidates must have a minimum of 10+ years of experience as a Commercial Real Estate Paralegal, preferably in a large firm environment.
