The Role:

As an Immigration Assistant, you will work closely with attorneys and case managers to prepare, file, and monitor various immigration and law matters. This is a full-time, hybrid position that requires both in-office and remote work.

Key Responsibilities:

- Communicate with clients via email and phone, providing limited guidance on proprietary systems and case processing
- Develop an understanding of client communication procedures and requirements
- Input client services rendered and send to Accounting for processing
- Learn and execute procedures and documentation requirements for various case types
- Manage basic corporate immigration cases
- Proactively escalate concerns to the appropriate BAL team member(s)
- Utilize templates and prepared materials for document preparation, following BAL best practices
- Manage status of all filed applications and petitions, and finalize documents after attorney review
- Utilize document and data management systems to prepare, monitor, and record all aspects of client casework
- Prepare internal caseload reports for management
- Share process flow with clients
- Conduct research to obtain information on companies, industries, processing procedures, and more
- Initiate contact with government agencies to obtain necessary information and alert senior paralegals and/or attorneys of potential process delays or problems

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor's degree or 2 years of related business experience preferred
- Superb organizational skills
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently
- Excellent English language skills, both verbal and written
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- General computer knowledge and typing skills, including proficiency in MS Office and document scanning/copying
- Professional and respectful attitude towards coworkers
- Ability to receive and analyze information, and share it with team members
- Ability to prioritize, schedule, and complete testing for multiple applications with overlapping schedules

Working Conditions:

- Able to sit and work at a computer for extended periods of time
- Able to perform general office administrative activities, such as copying, filing, and using the telephone
- Able to lift and move up to 25 pounds occasionally
- Regular and on-time attendance
- May exceed 40 hours per week
- Occasional travel may be required
