Job Title: Immigration Paralegal II

Job Responsibilities:
An Immigration Paralegal II is assigned the responsibility of coordinating with attorneys for the preparation, filing, and monitoring of various immigration and nationality law matters. The role demands a comprehensive understanding of the immigration process and mastery of multiple case types, alongside increased interaction with company clients. Key responsibilities include:

- Leading email and phone communications with clients under the direction of a Senior Paralegal or Attorney.
- Providing guidance to assignees on proprietary systems and case processing.
- Understanding client communication procedures and requirements.
- Inputting client services rendered and sending them to Accounting for processing.
- Demonstrating competence in previously handled case types and striving to broaden knowledge, showcasing increasing independence in case handling.
- Processing advanced and varied corporate immigration cases.
- Evaluating cases, relaying concerns, and escalating issues to appropriate law firm team members proactively.
- Preparing forms, letters, documents, and correspondence for attorney review, and adapting tools and resources for non-template casework while increasing knowledge of law firm best practices.
- Managing the status of all filed applications and petitions and finalizing documents post-attorney review.
- Utilizing document and data management systems to prepare, monitor, and record all aspects of client casework according to law firm policy.
- Preparing internal caseload reports for management.
- Sharing process flows with assignees and identifying problematic cases to discuss strategies and solutions with an Attorney.
- Performing research to gather information such as company or industry background, current wages, processing procedures, and standard processing times.
- Initiating contact with government agencies to obtain necessary information and alerting Senior Paralegals or attorneys about potential process delays or problems.

Education and Experience Information:
The qualifications for the role of Immigration Paralegal II include:

- A minimum of 2+ years of . corporate immigration experience.
- A Bachelor’s Degree; 1-year law-related experience under a licensed attorney; or a Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program.
- Comfort and ability to thrive in an extremely high-volume environment.
- Demonstrated sound judgment and the ability to execute tasks well with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to catch errors and correct work and the work of others.
- Superior client service skills.
- Effective prioritization of cases, caseload, and other assigned tasks (such as projects and company management responsibilities).
- Ability to meet deadlines and goals.
- Proficiency in MS Office, scanning/copying, and the ability to learn, apply, and effectively navigate daily use of proprietary software.
