Job Title: Probate Paralegal
Job Responsibilities:
The Probate Paralegal at the law firm plays a vital role in supporting attorneys by managing legal cases and ensuring accurate and organized documentation. Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting attorneys with legal case management by organizing files and maintaining case documentation.
- Utilizing document management systems to ensure all files are easily accessible and up-to-date.
- Drafting and proofreading legal documents, correspondence, and pleadings with minimal supervision.
- Providing support in various areas of law including estate planning, probate, trust administration, guardianship, and Medicaid planning.
- Preparing exhibits for court proceedings as needed.
- Coordinating with clients to gather necessary information and provide updates on case status.
- Performing executive administrative support tasks as required to assist the legal team.
- Proficiently scheduling hearings, calendaring appointments, and working with billing software.
Education and Experience Information:
The position requires the following skills and qualifications:
- Proficiency in legal case management software and document management systems.
- Knowledge of estate planning, probate, trust administration, guardianship, and Medicaid planning is preferred.
- Excellent transcription abilities with a keen eye for detail in proofreading documents.
- Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
- Must be able to multi-task while maintaining accuracy in work product and delivering excellent client service.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with clients and team members.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment; a team-oriented outlook and strong work ethic are essential.
Salary Information:
Compensation for the Probate Paralegal role is $20 to $40 per hour. The salary is commensurate with experience.
