Job Title: Business Development Specialist - Litigation

Job Responsibilities:
The Business Development (BD) Specialist, Litigation plays a crucial role in supporting the marketing and business development efforts within the department. The specialist collaborates with team members to execute key initiatives, focusing on the implementation of strategies for the assigned department, its practices, and attorneys. Key responsibilities include:

- Strategic Planning: Assist in executing strategic planning initiatives and maintain Nexl workspaces as required.
- Proposals/Marketing Collateral: Develop bespoke proposal materials and responses to RFPs for assigned practices. Collaborate with the brand marketing team to maintain and design print collateral and electronic content.
- Talent Development: Train and mentor the BD Coordinator, Litigation, providing feedback on their performance to the manager.
- Lateral Recruiting & Integration: Collaborate with the Sr. BD Specialist to prepare materials for new arrivals, create bios for new partners, and oversee the drafting of new associate bios. Assist in implementing integration plan initiatives.
- Directories & Rankings: Support the production of award and directory submissions and develop interview preparation documents for attorneys.
- Marketing & Operations: Conduct litigation spotting, work on thought leadership content, handle logistics for firm-produced events and conference sponsorships, and track BD expenses against budget.
- Marketing Communications: Support marketing strategies, work with attorneys on social media content, and assist with market/regional and office activities.

Education and Experience Information:
- A Bachelor’s degree is required.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in business development, sales, marketing, or writing within a law firm or professional services firm environment.
- This is a hybrid role, requiring the candidate to reside within a commutable distance to the local office.

Competencies:
- Operational Excellence: Experience in preparing responses to RFPs, pitch materials, and related sales materials. Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines efficiently.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with CRM, information systems, database functionality, and proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
- Self-Management: Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines independently, with a proactive and confident approach.
- Problem-Solving & Critical-Thinking: Identify potential problems, suggest solutions, and demonstrate creativity and resourcefulness.
- Collaboration & Communication: Excellent oral and written communication skills, along with the ability to build positive relationships with colleagues and clients.
- Accountability: Takes ownership of work, meets commitments, and is responsible for achieving goals.

Salary Information:
- Illinois-based applicants: The target annual salary range is $88,000 - $103,000, based on a full-time schedule. Compensation is determined by experience, qualifications, market data, and internal equity. Total compensation includes a comprehensive healthcare benefits package, yearly retirement contribution, and may include an annual discretionary merit bonus.
- Los Angeles-based applicants: The target annual salary range is $93,000 - $108,000, based on a full-time schedule. Compensation is determined by experience, qualifications, market data, and internal equity. Total compensation includes a comprehensive healthcare benefits package, yearly retirement contribution, and may include an annual discretionary merit bonus.
- San Francisco-based applicants: The target annual salary range is $104,000 - $120,000, based on a full-time schedule. Compensation is determined by experience, qualifications, market data, and internal equity. Total compensation includes a comprehensive healthcare benefits package, yearly retirement contribution, and may include an annual discretionary merit bonus.
