Litigation Assistant at Law Firm in Jacksonville, Florida Overview Morgan & Morgan, a leading personal injury law firm, is seeking a highly organized and experienced Litigation Assistant to join our team in Jacksonville, Florida. This role will work closely with a lead attorney and litigation paralegal, and will be responsible for various administrative duties to support our mission of fighting for consumer rights. Responsibilities The Litigation Assistant will be responsible for the following tasks: - Scheduling calendar hearings and deadlines - Organizing case files and managing logistics - Maintaining pleadings and discovery indexes - Organizing exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs, and appendices - Implementing and improving administrative processes for more efficient workflow - Collecting, examining, and organizing evidence and other legal documents - Drafting and proofreading correspondence and legal documents - Researching regulations, laws, and legal articles - Managing client billing and resolving billing issues - Communicating with clients and witnesses to schedule meetings, interviews, and depositions - Managing and organizing documents in paper or electronic filing systems - Providing general administrative assistance, such as maintaining the attorney's calendar and making travel arrangements Qualifications - High school diploma or GED - Associate’s Degree in Paralegal Studies, Bachelor’s Degree, or a Paralegal Certificate (preferred) - Experience in Personal Injury, Workers Compensation, Premises, First Party or other injury related practice areas (preferred) - At least 2 years of experience as an Administrative Assistant in a law firm or corporate legal department - Highly organized with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment - Strong written and verbal communication skills Benefits Morgan & Morgan offers a competitive benefits package for full-time employees, including medical and dental insurance, 401(k) plan, paid time off, and paid holidays.
