Law Firm Seeking Talent Counsel in Various US Locations Overview: - Orrick, a global law firm, is seeking a Talent Counsel to join their team. - This position is open to be based in multiple US locations, with the option for 100% remote work. - The role involves advising the firm on employment-related matters and staying updated on legislative and regulatory changes to ensure compliance. - The Talent Counsel will also be responsible for reviewing and revising internal policies and procedures, providing training to team members, and assisting with employment-related documents and benefits matters. Responsibilities: - Advise on employment-related matters under US federal, state, and local laws. - Stay updated on legislative and regulatory changes affecting employment obligations. - Review and revise internal policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance. - Develop and deliver training on employment law matters. - Assist with drafting and negotiating employment-related documents. - Support the firm's benefits team on compensation, benefits, leaves of absence, and immigration matters. - Assist with pre-litigation employment matters. - Perform other duties assigned by firm leadership. Qualifications: - Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school. - 3-5+ years of experience providing legal advice in a corporate or professional services environment. - Strong understanding of employment law, including discrimination, harassment, employment contracts, wage and hour laws, and wrongful termination. - Ability to work with minimal supervision and provide sound legal advice. - Strong analytical, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
