As a Paralegal in our Affordable Housing practice group, you will be responsible for document management, performing routine and advanced tasks to support attorneys, and utilizing your specialized knowledge to conduct legal research and draft documents. You will also have the opportunity to develop and maintain relationships with clients and governmental agencies. Key Responsibilities: - Create and maintain electronic closing binders and respond to client requests - Draft simple closing and organizational documents - Submit applications and process requests to governmental agencies - Conduct factual research at government agencies - Organize and maintain complex transaction files and closing checklists - Assist attorneys with due diligence and closings - Develop and maintain relationships with clients and governmental agencies - Process invoices and prepare property tax exemption requests - Provide support for ongoing property records and regulatory filings - Prepare and update organizational charts - Other duties as assigned Requirements: - Bachelor's degree required - Paralegal Certificate highly preferred - 6+ years of experience in Real Estate, preferably in a law firm setting - Knowledge of corporate organization and structure, including various forms of entities and applicable filing requirements - Familiarity with real estate acquisition and loan financing documents - Strong organizational, communication, and writing skills - Ability to manage multiple complex matters simultaneously - Client interfacing and deal management experience - Intermediate/advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office 2010, Outlook, PDF, Word, and Excel - Availability for overtime and occasional evening/weekend work as needed Additional Information: - This position does not have any direct reports - Work environment is a professional office setting - Full-time, non-exempt position with typical hours of Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:30pm - Little travel is expected, primarily local during business hours - Salary is competitive and based on experience Join our team at Locke Lord and take your career to the next level in a supportive and inclusive environment.
