Talent Counsel - Employment Law Specialist at Top-Ranked Global Law Firm

Overview:

- Orrick, a top-ranked global law firm, is seeking a Talent Counsel to advise the firm on employment-related matters and support the firm's benefits team.
- This position can be based in any of Orrick's . offices or 100% remote in the .
- The ideal candidate will have a and 3-5+ years of experience practicing employment law.

Responsibilities:

- Advise the firm on employment law matters under . federal, state, and local laws.
- Stay updated on legislative and regulatory changes affecting employment obligations and assist in creating policies, procedures, and trainings to ensure compliance.
- Review and revise internal policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance.
- Provide training to team members on various employment law topics.
- Draft and negotiate employment-related documents, such as offer letters and separation agreements.
- Assist with pre-litigation employment matters, such as demand letters and administrative charges.
- Perform other duties as assigned by firm leadership.

Qualifications:

- with strong academic credentials.
- Strong preference for experience practicing employment law within California and/or New York.
- 3-5+ years of experience providing legal advice in a corporate or professional services environment.
- Solid understanding of employment law, including discrimination, harassment, employment contracts, wage and hour laws, employee leaves of absence, and benefits.
- Ability to work independently and provide sound legal advice while balancing the needs of the firm.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.

Compensation and Benefits:

- Expected salary range: $194,000 - $260,000, depending on location and qualifications.
- Comprehensive and competitive total compensation package, including elective health benefits, mental well-being benefits, parental leave, and paid holidays.
- Other compensation may include an annual discretionary merit bonus, determined by firm and individual performance.
