AbbVie, a leading pharmaceutical company, is seeking a skilled Corporate Counsel to join our team and provide expert guidance on employee benefits. This role offers the opportunity to work with various business units and collaborate with legal colleagues to ensure compliance with benefits and compensation laws.

Key Responsibilities:

• Advise on a wide range of compensation and employee benefits matters, including health and welfare, retirement plans, and executive compensation arrangements.
• Offer counsel on ERISA and Internal Revenue Code mandates and ensure compliance with ACA, HIPAA, and COBRA regulations.
• Provide support for post-transaction benefit plan integration.
• Draft and review plan documents, trust agreements, and employee communications.
• Assist with benefit plan governance and fiduciary matters.
• Oversee equity compensation program, including stock administration and granting equity outside of the .
• Assist with vendor and consulting contract review and negotiation.

Qualifications:

• JD degree from an accredited law school, with state bar admission for in-house practice.
• 5+ years of experience in employee benefits and compensation.
• Thorough understanding of ERISA, tax regulations, and laws.
• Strong communication and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage complex projects and meet deadlines.
