Salary Range: This is a full-time position with a competitive salary and benefits package. Law Firm is seeking an experienced Labor Associate for its Hartford, CT office. This position is primarily a traditional labor position representing employers, but will also include advice and counsel work with employers regarding federal and Massachusetts workplace laws and other assignments, as needed. The ideal candidate will have a JD from an accredited law school, have a minimum of 5 years of traditional labor law experience, be admitted to the MA Bar, and have an understanding of current agency (state and federal) enforcement techniques. Additionally, the candidate should have excellent attention to detail, strong organizational and project management skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, and bilingual, English and Spanish, is preferred but not required. This is a full-time position with a competitive salary and benefits package. Job Responsibilities: - Handle unfair labor practice charges at the National Labor Relations Board (“NLRB”) - Research and write - Represent management in NLRB elections - Provide legal advice to employers regarding union organizing, corporate campaigns, card check and neutrality agreements - Negotiate and/or provide legal advice regarding collective bargaining agreements - Handle grievance, arbitration and unfair labor practice proceedings - Obtain mass picketing injunctions - Advise employers on federal and Massachusetts wage and hour issues, leave management, disability accommodating issues and other workplace issues - Review handbooks, policies and forms for compliance with federal and state law - Review compensation, commission and bonus plans - Conduct management training regarding labor relations, federal and Massachusetts workplace issues and, harassment, discrimination and retaliation - Other duties and responsibilities as reasonably assigned Requirements: - JD from accredited law school - Minimum of 5 years of traditional labor law experience is preferred - MA Bar Admission - Understanding of current agency (state and federal) enforcement techniques preferred - Excellent attention to detail - Strong organizational and project management skills - Excellent written and oral communication skills - Bilingual, English and Spanish, is preferred but not required - May include regular business travel Salary and Benefits: This is a full-time position with a competitive salary and benefits package.
