ProfileDirector, Compliance - Lending and Testing The candidate will be responsible for partnering with our lines of business and for strategically leading the development of risk-based mitigation plans for our lending products and services; including credit card, mortgage, home equity, student loans, consumer loans, auto, commercial and other lending products. Will be responsible for developing or enhancing second line of defense testing. Responsible for developing a strategic plan to enhance existing program and successfully executing upon that plan as we approach $10 billion in assets. Will participate in compliance examinations and other interactions with regulatory agencies. Manage and conduct regulatory program risk assessments for supported lines of business. Oversee planning and implementation of business compliance systems, projects and controls. Prepare management and board reporting that includes insights and analysis based on industry-leading knowledge of compliance management programs. Establish and monitor various key performance indicators and ensure risk assessments are completed to offer continual insight to senior management and Board of Directors. Provide expert consultation to business partners to identify and mitigate risk within their business units. Develop and execute a risk-based second line of defense testing program and report results to senior management and the Board of Directors. Strategically preempt legal and regulatory challenges by understanding current and future related legislation and regulations for the industry. Maintain policies, standards and procedures related to second line of defense testing. Translate strategic and operating plans into meaningful direction of projects, goals, priorities and activities; deliver on strategy through the right people in the right place at the right time. Provide business vision by creating imagery and transparency in the possibilities, opportunities and direction of the future. Continual assessment, discerning development, insightful coaching and talent utilization/optimization of subordinate leaders of others. Capture, analyze, and understand the internal environment, team dynamics, and talent capabilities to address organizational refinement, agility and growth. Applies great management practices in leading an engaged workforce to effectively deliver the value of this function. Provides a structured and consistent approach to ensure that individual development plans are in place, performance management is consistent, performance management process is respected and followed, and coaching and feedback are provided on a regular and dynamic basis.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have completion of a Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of relevant experience. JD or Master’s Degree is preferred. CRCM or CUCE certification is strongly desired. Should have broad financial services knowledge and industry best practices for continuously improving a proactive Compliance Management System. Must have excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills and exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
