Toxic Tort Paralegal Duties: Conduct research on relevant laws, regulations and articles. Organize and maintain documents in the physical file and in the firm's document Management software. Gather, maintain current and arrange evidence and other legal documents for attorney review and case preparation. Write reports to help attorneys prepare for trial. Obtain affidavits and other formal documents/statements that may be used as evidence in court. Assist lawyers during trials by handlings exhibits, taking notes or reviewing trial transcripts. File exhibits, briefs, appeals and other legal documents (after lawyer has reviewed and approved) with the court or opposing council. Reach out to clients, witnesses, lawyers and outside vendors to schedule interviews, meetings, or depositions.

Qualifications: Should have 3-5 years of experience as a paralegal. Experience in toxic tort or asbestos is ideal. Knowledge of legal documents and terminology. Knowledge of billing. Knowledge of investigating the facts of a case. E-filing knowledge in preparation to file all types of discovery requests, responses to opposing counsel, and motions. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint. Must have the ability to work as part of a team, as well as to work independently, with minimal supervision.
