Job Title: Data Architect

Job Responsibilities:
The Data Architect at the law firm is responsible for designing, implementing, and enhancing the data warehouse framework to align with the organization's strategic goals. Key responsibilities include:

- Designing scalable, efficient, and secure data architectures using SQL Server, Azure services, and data fabrics.
- Implementing robust data models, including multidimensional modeling, to meet complex business requirements and ensure data accuracy and consistency.
- Leveraging Azure services such as Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Database, and Azure Synapse Analytics to architect cloud-native data solutions.
- Designing and implementing Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes using SSIS and other relevant technologies to integrate data from various sources.
- Providing technical and operational oversight on database administration, including architecture, configuration, monitoring, maintenance, tuning, and security.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including developers, data engineers, data analysts, and business stakeholders, to understand requirements, define data architecture solutions, and drive successful implementations.
- Documenting data architecture designs, standards, and best practices, and providing guidance to ensure adherence across projects.
- Maintaining security compliance and adherence to ISO270001 certifications.
- Managing a knowledge base (Application Portfolio) that includes installation documentation, problem resolutions, vendor contact information, change log, and other application information.
- Staying updated on technical and industry knowledge through training programs, seminars, and industry events.
- Participating in team efforts by attending regularly scheduled team/project meetings.
- Performing other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:
To be successful in the Data Architect role, the candidate must meet the following requirements:

- Minimum of 7 years of Information Technology experience, with at least 4 years as a Data Architect or similar role.
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university.
- Experience in integrating AI and machine learning models into data architecture, including building and testing sustainable data infrastructure.
- Proficiency in designing and implementing big data solutions.
- Advanced skills in data governance and quality management, particularly in multi-cloud environments.
- Knowledge of modern data platforms, mesh and lakehouse architecture, and data fabrics.
- Understanding of AI-driven software development, including the use of large language models and image generation technologies.
- Demonstrated experience in data warehousing principles, approaches, technologies, and architectures.
- Extensive knowledge of complex SQL development and troubleshooting.
- Expertise in ETL development using SSIS, Azure Data Factory, or similar tools.
- Experience with reporting tools, preferably Reporting Services (SSRS, PowerBI), Qlik.
- Knowledge of SQL Server 2016, 2019, 2022 environment.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision, with flexibility in work schedules (after hours support required).
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to communicate on all levels.
- Ability to learn and apply new technologies quickly in a business environment.

Education and Experience:
The candidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university and have a minimum of 7 years of Information Technology experience, with at least 4 years as a Data Architect or in a similar role.

Salary Information:
The anticipated annual salary range for the Data Architect position, depending on location, is as follows:

- Rochester, NY: $93,000 to $138,050
- Boston, MA: $102,500 to $152,350
- Chicago, IL: $102,500 to $152,350
- Los Angeles, CA: $102,500 to $152,350
- Washington, DC: $102,500 to $152,350
- New York, NY: $112,500 to $167,200
- San Francisco, CA: $112,500 to $167,200

In addition to a standard benefits package, this role may be eligible for additional contingent compensation based on factors such as work performance, geographic location, work experience, education, and qualifications. The salary range provided is the law firm's good faith estimate of the annual salary it expects to pay for the position at the time of this posting.
