Job Title: Legal Assistant Paralegal
Job Responsibilities:
The Legal Assistant Paralegal at the law firm is responsible for supporting Partners, Senior Attorneys, Associates, in various practice areas. This role involves a range of tasks related to legal document preparation, client communication, and general office procedures. Key responsibilities include:
- Maintaining electronic and physical files according to company procedures.
- Scanning and posting all correspondence, emails, notes from telephone calls, and faxes to ensure proper file compliance.
- Managing task lists for documents and court deadlines.
- Maintaining electronic calendars for attorneys.
- Communicating with law firm clients.
- Reviewing attorney cases to assess the need for replenishment of funds, when needed.
- Drafting legal documents and correspondence, as directed.
- Preparing and assembling materials, documents, and exhibits for meetings, court appearances, and hearings.
- Scheduling appointments for attorneys.
- Researching inquiries and requests for information.
- Performing general office duties as assigned for the professional operation of a law firm.
Education and Experience:
The ideal candidate for the Legal Assistant Paralegal position should possess the following qualifications:
- One to two years of law firm or office experience.
- Must be a self-starter, work well with co-workers, and perform all secretarial duties.
- A two-year legal assistant or paralegal education is preferred.
- Proficiency in all aspects of Microsoft Office, Excel, Westlaw, and document management software or equivalent.
- Ability to prepare draft documentation using Word or through templates and revise and finalize as directed.
- Prior experience with KPIs and metrics is preferred.
- Notary Public certification is preferred.
Salary Information:
The compensation for the Legal Assistant Paralegal position ranges from $50,000 to $55,000 annually.
