Job Title: Business Development Manager - Regulatory
Job Responsibilities:
The Business Development Manager for the Regulatory and Investigations Practices at the law firm is tasked with a range of responsibilities aimed at supporting the firm's growth and market presence. This role requires close collaboration with the Director of Business Development and various colleagues across the global Marketing and Business Development Department. Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting Directors of Business Development in implementing new initiatives using project management tools.
- Collaborating with other Business Services Departments such as Recruiting, Pricing, and Pro Bono on cross-team projects.
- Assisting the business development team in adopting change management strategies and maintaining key data to enhance attorney adoption of the firm’s experience management system.
- Driving working groups and special projects.
- Conducting strategic research on potential clients, competitors, and practice developments to identify business trends and opportunities.
- Supporting Practice Group and Go-To-Market or industry meetings by working with relevant business development team members.
- Providing ad hoc support for positioning the firm’s strengths in the marketplace through thought leadership, rankings/awards, and pitches and proposals.
- Coordinating firm-hosted business development events, including receptions, client entertainment outings, substantive presentations, and webinars.
- Providing team coverage during periods of high volume across functional areas.
Process Monitoring and Improvement:
- Working with the Directors of Business Development in creating, troubleshooting, and implementing new processes and procedures.
- Supporting the Business Development Leadership to document department processes to ensure effective onboarding/training and knowledge transfer.
- Drafting and overseeing project plans with clearly defined deliverables and resource requirements, coordinating work streams, tracking and communicating progress, and addressing obstacles.
- Monitoring the budget and providing support as needed.
- Supporting process-oriented projects for the firm’s systems including BDHub (CRM), Foundation, and the website.
Education and Experience Information:
Candidates for the Business Development Manager position should possess the following qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- At least 5 years of experience in a business development or marketing role.
- Flexible, forward-thinking, proactive, energetic, and detail-oriented team player.
- Professional and approachable demeanor with competence in dealing with senior lawyers and collaborating with other lawyers and business services colleagues.
- Excellent project management skills with keen attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and execute multiple ongoing tasks under tight deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Effective change management approach.
- Team player mentality with great collegiality and adaptability.
- Superior presentation, writing, and verbal communication skills.
- Well-developed Microsoft Office skills, including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel, and proficiency in contact relationship management databases like Microsoft Dynamics.
Salary Information:

Pay Transparency Range:
- New York: Full-time annualized salary range $150,000 - $180,000.
- Washington, .: Full-time annualized salary range $135,000 - $165,000.
- Los Angeles: Full-time annualized salary range $135,000 - $160,000.
- Chicago: Full-time annualized salary range $130,000 - $160,000.
The salary offer will depend on various factors, including relevant experience, internal equity, market data, job location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
