Job Responsibilities:
The Coordinator, Benefits at the law firm is responsible for the administration of employee health, welfare, and retirement benefits. Working closely with the Benefits Manager, the role requires a strong customer-focused approach to provide guidance and assistance to all partners and employees regarding benefits. Key responsibilities include maintaining a robust knowledge of health and welfare benefits, responding to benefit-related questions and concerns, maintaining benefit information in the HR system, processing monthly health and welfare bill/claim reconciliations and payments, auditing benefit deduction reports in Workday, assisting with weekly vendor integrations, and resolving discrepancies. The coordinator also responds to general reporting requests, provides compliance support, and supports the administration of various employee benefit programs and initiatives. Additionally, the coordinator will work with the Benefits Manager and Benefits Specialist to coordinate all aspects of annual enrollment, maintain benefits information on the firm’s intranet, support the firm’s wellness committee, and assist with HR initiatives and special projects.
Education and Experience Information:
The position prefers candidates with a Bachelor’s degree and requires 1-3 years of experience in benefits, specifically in health and welfare. Strong communication skills, both written and oral, are essential. Candidates should possess excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively. Experience in Microsoft Office Suite, data entry, and an aptitude for learning new programs and systems quickly are important qualifications. Experience with Workday is preferred. The role demands a highly organized individual with a high level of attention to detail, the ability to identify and analyze issues, recommend and implement solutions, and respond effectively to sensitive inquiries and complaints. Demonstrated ability to work, manage, and meet competing deadlines is crucial, as is integrity and good judgment when handling confidential information.
