Job Title: Case Manager
Job Responsibilities:
- Engage in daily interaction with existing and potential clients through telephone and in-person meetings.
- Order and manage medical records from providers, maintaining communication with clients and providers throughout the treatment process.
- Obtain necessary documents to support injury and/or liability claims.
- Interact with insurance carriers and healthcare providers to secure records and account balances.
- Negotiate case settlements with insurance carriers and negotiate deductions of outstanding medical balances with providers.
- Collaborate directly with multiple coworkers involved in the management and support of case files.
- Maintain organized case files to ensure efficient case management.
- Prepare comprehensive demands and assemble supporting documents for submission to insurance carriers.
- Interact with attorneys and present case synopses when required.
- Manage case files from intake to closing under the direction of an attorney.
Education and Experience Information:
- A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Prior experience as a Personal Injury Case Manager is preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience working in a legal position or as an insurance adjuster is preferred.
- Strong negotiating skills are required.
- Ability to work effectively as a team player and follow established procedures.
- Proactive interaction with clients, insurance companies, and medical providers is essential.
- Must be capable of multitasking, prioritizing, and managing workload with a positive attitude and minimal supervision.
- Highly organized with the ability to handle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong writing and communication skills, along with attention to detail, are necessary.
- Extensive computer and database expertise, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and typing at a minimum of 35 words per minute.
