Job Responsibilities:
A boutique law firm is seeking a full-time legal assistant or law clerk. The primary responsibilities for this position include managing large cases and handling document-intensive litigations. The candidate will also be responsible for assisting with court filing requirements, both in-person and electronic filing of legal pleadings. The role requires excellent writing and proofreading skills, as well as a strong understanding of local court rules. The legal assistant will need to communicate effectively with clients and court staff, ensuring all interactions are professional. The individual will also be expected to be proficient in using legal technologies, including Essential Forms, as well as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe.
Education and Experience Information:
The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 2 years of experience as a legal assistant or law clerk, demonstrating a stable work history in the legal field. While a Bachelor's degree is preferred, it is not essential for this position. The candidate must have a typing speed of at least 60 words per minute. Experience with court filing requirements and the ability to assist with both in-person and e-filing of legal pleadings are crucial. The candidate should be self-motivated, organized, and capable of working well under time constraints. A proactive and dependable nature, along with a positive attitude and the ability to work effectively as part of a team, are essential qualities for this role.
Salary Information:
The salary for this full-time position is commensurate with experience, ranging from $50,000 to $75,000 per year.
