Job Responsibilities:
The Legal Assistant at the law firm is responsible for a variety of tasks that support the firm’s operations and legal processes. Key responsibilities include:

- Coordinating the filing and service of pleadings and documents with Superior Courts, Rent Boards, Assessor-Recorder Offices, Sheriff’s Offices, and other administrative entities.
- Performing general administrative duties such as handling telephone calls, scheduling client consultations, transcribing voicemail messages, managing mail, organizing emails for partners, and opening and closing client files.
- Preparing, editing, finalizing, and distributing client bills via email and . mail.
- Processing client credit card payments for bills and legal consultations.
- Scheduling mediations for the senior partner, coordinating dates, sending confirmation agreements, following up on mediation deposit payments, submitting mediation briefs, and sending Zoom invitations for mediations.
- Drafting correspondence with clients and prospective clients, preparing retainer agreements, and transmitting these agreements to clients via DocuSign.
- Preparing, proofreading, and editing drafts of legal documents, including letters, briefs, deeds, contracts, and agreements. Finalizing documents after attorney approval and transmitting them to clients, other counsel, courts, or arbitrators.
- Conducting legal research, including case law, statutes, and codes, and gathering pertinent legal information.

Education and Experience Information:
The position requires proficiency and experience in several key areas:

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, WORD, Corel WordPerfect, Westlaw, PACER, and other legal research sites.
- Experience with One Legal, File & ServeXpress, TimeSlips (billing software), and other legal filing platforms.
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Capability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Analytical thinking with strong conceptual and researching skills.
- General understanding of legal documents.
