Job Responsibilities
As an Estate Planning Paralegal at the law firm, you will be an integral part of a collaborative and client-centered team. Your responsibilities will include:
- Drafting and preparing essential estate planning documents such as wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives.
- Assisting clients during the signing and notarization of documents to ensure legal compliance and client understanding.
- Conducting thorough legal research and drafting client correspondence to support case development and client relations.
- Managing and maintaining case files, calendars, and deadlines to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to timelines.
- Communicating professionally with clients, financial institutions, and government agencies to facilitate the estate planning process.
- Staying up-to-date and compliant with relevant estate planning laws and regulations to provide accurate and current legal guidance.
Education and Experience
Candidates for the Estate Planning Paralegal position should have:
- At least 2 years of experience in estate planning or probate, preferably within a law firm setting.
- Familiarity with drafting legal estate documents and understanding of estate planning procedures.
- Proficiency in legal software such as WealthCounsel, Clio, Academy, or similar platforms to efficiently manage legal tasks.
- Essential soft skills including compassion, organization, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
