JOB POSITION: Litigation Assistant / Paralegal

Law firm, a small-sized Texas civil litigation and insurance defense firm, is seeking a full-time, experienced Litigation Assistant for its Dallas office. The ideal candidate should be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a legal team. The candidate must be capable of managing multiple workstreams efficiently to meet the needs of the firm. Attention to detail, organizational skills, and a proactive attitude are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat is required. This position is crucial for day-to-day operations.

The firm represents various clients and corporations involved in diverse litigation matters, requiring a strong work ethic. Salary Information

Competitive salary based on experience: $65,000 - $80,000, along with a bonus and free parking.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Preparing and maintaining well-organized case files
- Legal document preparation
- Scheduling all court reporting services, including court reporters, videographers, and interpreters
- Coordinating and facilitating court reporting logistics such as conference rooms, remote video setups, and catering
- Proofing and formatting documents
- Communicating with clients, courts, and vendors
- Heavy scheduling and calendaring for depositions, hearings, mediations, client meetings, and trials, with scheduling proficiency being imperative
- E-filing various legal documents
- Assisting with discovery and document production
- Working hand-in-hand with attorneys on case planning and case management
- Reviewing and summarizing information relevant to the case obtained through discovery requests, depositions, and records
- Creating tables of contents and tables of authorities, preparing exhibits with redactions and bate numbering
- Organizing deposition, mediation, and trial preparation materials

Education and Experience Information

Qualifications/Requirements:

- Civil defense litigation experience is preferred.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Effective communication and organizational abilities.
- Detail-oriented and proactive.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize workstreams.
- Working knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure and experience in preparing basic legal documents and pleadings.
- Ability to electronically file in Federal and State courts.

Candidates must reside within a 20-mile radius of the office.
