Job Title: Pricing Analyst

Job Responsibilities:
The Pricing Analyst at the law firm is responsible for supporting the firm's pricing and value strategies across various markets. Key duties include utilizing and analyzing both internal financial data and competitive intelligence market data. The role involves supporting the strategic rate setting process of the firm, collecting, reviewing, and preparing data for both internal and external review and discussion, and providing analysis and preparing budgets for various matter structures across different practice groups. The analyst is also tasked with comparing the outcomes of different pricing strategies.

Specific responsibilities include:
- Assessing internal and external data to identify trends and opportunities at market, practice, and experience levels to further the firm’s strategic rate setting and pricing processes.
- Supporting existing and future data and rate setting models through data inputs, analysis, and validation.
- Generating competitive intelligence reports, summarizing and presenting findings, including through data visualizations.
- Analyzing historic financial data to support pricing strategies, including phase-based and technology-assisted pricing, for various practice areas.
- Gathering information on key matter components to determine and support client pricing requests and needs.
- Supporting internal data gathering and validation for competitive intelligence and survey reports.
- Assisting in developing tools, templates, and processes to streamline pricing support across the firm.
- Working with third-party vendors on data confirmation, validation, and investment justifications.
- Assisting in researching, benchmarking, monitoring, and reporting on market trends of legal pricing and rates across markets and practice areas.

Education, Skills, and Experience Required:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or a related field is required.
- Candidates should have 2-5 years of experience in data analysis.
- Knowledge of relevant software programs (., Outlook, PowerPoint, Word) and databases is necessary, along with the ability to learn new software and operating systems.
- Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills are needed to synthesize, interpret, and summarize information in a clear, concise manner.
- The ability to track industry trends is essential.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required for effective cross-departmental collaboration.
- Strong multi-tasking, organizational, and planning skills are necessary to handle multiple projects and shifting priorities, and to meet deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail is required.
- Analytical thinking skills, with the ability to adapt to changing demands and work well in a fast-paced environment, are essential.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with financial metrics and pricing for professional services is preferred.
- Experience with financial modeling is advantageous.
- Familiarity with law firms, legal service providers, or professional services is desirable.
