Job Title: Jr. Litigation Paralegal
Job Responsibilities:
The Junior Litigation Paralegal is tasked with providing comprehensive support and assistance to attorneys in managing and supervising all aspects of litigation. Key responsibilities include handling caseloads, preparing drafts of legal documents and correspondence for attorney review, and compiling, analyzing, and summarizing information. The role involves coordinating efforts between attorneys, clients, outside legal counsel, opposing legal counsel, other parties, and outside vendors. Essential functions of the job include:
- Drafting, reviewing, and analyzing routine legal documents as requested by attorneys.
- Managing and preparing various documents related to administrative hearings, settlements, and arbitrations.
- Providing operational litigation technology support, such as database creation and maintenance, importing images into databases, searching, exporting, reformatting, and converting data, designing forms and reports, and managing e-discovery processes.
- Organizing and maintaining case files using automated procedures.
- Reviewing documents for privilege and drafting privilege logs for attorney review.
- Conducting legal and factual research.
- Interacting with outside entities like courts, government agencies, expert witnesses, corporations, vendors, and other law firms to gather information or coordinate activities, especially for trials and arbitrations.
- Acting as a liaison between case team attorneys and support staff to ensure case-specific paralegal services meet team expectations.
- Meeting billable goals established by practice management.
Additional responsibilities may include performing office support duties as assigned and requiring overtime work as needed.
Education and Experience Information:
Candidates should preferably hold a valid Paralegal certification and possess 2 to 4 years of litigation experience. Experience in energy law or administrative litigation is considered a plus. Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) is required. Candidates must have strong time management and organizational skills, a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, be self-motivated and proactive, and possess an excellent customer service attitude. Availability for overtime work and travel is needed.
Salary Information:
The salary range for this position is $80,000 to $90,000 per year. It is important to note that quoted salary ranges are based on the law firm's good faith belief at the time of the job posting and are not a guarantee of final salary offers. Base pay is dependent on market location and may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base pay is only one component of the total rewards that the law firm provides, which also includes a discretionary bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
