Job Title: ECAB Paralegal

Job Responsibilities:
The ECAB Paralegal at the organization is responsible for providing time-sensitive clerical support to the Trial Bureaus and Case Management Unit. Key responsibilities include:
- Drafting Criminal Court complaints.
- Obtaining case information and supporting arrest documents from Police or security personnel.
- Preparing case summaries outlining the circumstances of arrests.
- Interviewing Police Officers or Security personnel to determine appropriate charges.
- Assisting with the processing of completed cases in the Complaint Room.
- Maintaining computerized records of all arrests pending the completion of a complaint.
- Assisting with the screening and assignment of arrests.
- Providing administrative and technical support to Assistant District Attorneys.
- Performing related tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Education and Experience Information:
Candidates must meet the following qualifications:
- Level 1: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college.
- Level 2: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college and one (1) year of experience either as a paralegal in the criminal justice field or equivalent.
- Level 3: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college and two (2) years of experience either as a paralegal in the criminal justice field or equivalent.

Preferred Requirements/Skills include:
- Ability to work weekends and holidays.
- Ability to work overtime on short notice.
- Previous clerical experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to update and edit existing proprietary databases.
- Ability to work with frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workflow.
- Ability to follow directions and apply proper policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Strong attention to detail and high concern for data accuracy.
- Must be able to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to multi-task.
- Ability to interact with all levels of staff, law enforcement representatives, and outside visitors.

Salary Information:
The salary range for the ECAB Paralegal position is $50, – $53,.

Additional Information:
- Current office employees must have served at least one (1) year in their current position and be in good standing to be eligible for a transfer or promotion. They must also meet the minimum qualifications of the position.
- Candidates are expected to commit to one (1) year to the hiring Unit.
- Authorization to work in the United States is required for this position.
- Hours for this position are Tuesday to Saturday from 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM.

Community Associate - 56057

Minimum Qualifications:
- High school graduation or equivalent and three years of experience in community work or community-centered activities related to the duties described above; or
- Education and/or experience equivalent to the above qualification.

Residency Requirement:
City Residency is not required for this position.
