Experienced Paralegal/Legal Assistant for Nursing Home/Personal Injury Law RESPONSIBILITIES: Reviews, selects, categorizes, organizes, and maintains documents including, briefs, pleadings, appeals, and contracts. Works collaboratively with assigned attorneys and support staff in preparing legal documentation and/or processing transactions. Gathers factual information to respond to litigation discovery requests or other information inquiries. Identifies sources of potentially relevant documents needed for projects or discovery. Arranges for numbering and copying of documents. Prepares summaries of depositions and other litigation discovery. Performs legal research and analysis, both manually and on computers; compiles, analyzes, and summarizes data. Manages cases and files; organizes and maintains files. Performs factual and technical investigation and analysis of case issues. Assists in all phases of case preparation including discovery and trial. Monitors legal fees, budgets, and project status. Provides general logistical help and supports the maintenance of legal files. Assists with special projects as assigned. Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree (.) in a related field or equivalent preferred. Certification from an ABA-approved paralegal training program or equivalent is preferred. Should have 2-3 years of related experience or equivalent. Strong research skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent grammatical and spelling skills. Proficiency in using Smart Advocate preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Strong interpersonal skills. Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow. Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels.
