Job Title: Child Support Officer III

Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed investigations to locate absent parents and verify their employment and assets.
- Assist in establishing paternity for children born out-of-wedlock and securing court orders for financial support and health care coverage.
- Enforce child support orders and negotiate lump sum payments from noncustodial parents with overdue child or medical support.
- Engage in out-of-court settlements and agreements, monitor child support cases, and refer delinquent cases for enforcement actions.
- Prepare and review documents related to legal and administrative actions to establish or enforce child support orders.
- Maintain accurate child support virtual files in the Enterprise Content Management (ECM) repository.
- Attend court sessions to assist legal staff when necessary.
- Research case information using the Texas Child Support Enforcement System (TXCSES) and other resources.
- Stay informed about child support policies, Texas Family Law, federal regulations, and other states' IV-D regulations.
- Explain Child Support Program policies and procedures to customers and respond to their inquiries and complaints.
- Assess the validity of complaints against the IV-D program with impartiality and serve as a Notary Public.
- Ensure security and confidentiality of sensitive information and comply with agency policies, including those on ethics and integrity.
- Perform related work as assigned and attend work regularly as per the agreed-upon schedule.

Education and Experience Information:
- Required: Graduation from high school or equivalent.
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Experience: One year of full-time experience in fields such as Child Support Program, credit collections, investigations, legal assistance, customer service, or IV-A eligibility specialist.
- Knowledge: Investigative practices and techniques.
- Skills: Interviewing, negotiating, word-processing, data entry/retrieval, basic mathematical computations, handling multiple tasks, prioritizing, meeting deadlines, effective communication, sound judgment, and decision making.
- Abilities: Respond positively to feedback, work cooperatively in a professional environment, provide excellent customer service, work in person at designated locations, handle business-related travel, work over 40 hours if needed, lift and relocate 30 lbs, travel overnight up to 5%, and type 35 words per minute. Spanish proficiency is preferred.

Salary Information:
- Salary (Pay Basis): $4, per month.
- Overtime Status: Non-exempt.
